Baalbek was founded in November 2015 at Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest by Mellow Mood Hotels.
Our restaurant’s name, Baalbek, was inspired by the sun-city in Lebanon and happened to also have a special connection to Hungarian culture motivated by Tivadar Csontvary Kosztka’s artwork.
We were considered Budapest’s first authentic Lebanese kitchen and we’d like to think we re-ignited Budapest’s love for middle eastern cuisine!
Our doors were open to our family and friends for several years until we saw it was time for a change and a relocation to somewhere bigger and with a greater view.
In 2019 Baalbek moved a few meters away to Belgrad Rakpart 26 and we began our renovation and make-over.
Today after a face-lift, a wider space, an extra floor, a better view, and a new style we can’t wait to open our doors and hearts to our friends old and new.
We’re once again reopening soon with warm oriental hospitality, freshly-curated mezzes, colorfully concocted cocktails, sensational desserts, and flavourful shisha selections, so you can enjoy exquisite bites whilst relaxing and laughing with your loved ones!
